DNS Services dnssvc.com fake bill sent! ** DO NOT PAY ** Fake Invoices sent from : http://www.dnssvc.com This company is sending FAKE Invoices in the mail, with notice to pay the invoice with NO indication of solicitation what so ever. * Update * There is 2 lines of information that do clearly note that the "Bill" is a solicitation for service and your are not required to pay. Here is the issue, we did our own study taking the notification ( which is designed "exactly" like a bill ) to both non technical AND technical users to read and provide comment. Everyone stated that it is a bill / even after asking are you sure, is there anything on there that would tell you that it is "not" a bill. Every person said no. Here is the reason, there is a block of text dialog where the 1st 2 lines of that textual block of information, makes note of feature related information, we are finding that it is common for people to stop reading after the about 1 and 1/2 lines of that information. Never reaching the 3rd and 4th lines of information that do in fact note, you are note required to pay this notice. The issue at hand, this was NO MISTAKE - out of the millions of letters that go out, the percentage of accounting dept. that will in fact pay this low dollar amount of 60 bucks, as it is human nature to stop reading that block of data. *** This issue here is that "once" you pay it the first time, you are LOCKED in and the next year they are not required to provide solicitation info as you are now a client. Bill just gets paid every YEAR , 5 bucks per both from millions of users. Paying for a service that in most cases would never be used / will go unnoticed. The legal reaction or comments from the vendor is, this is perfectly legal due to the fact that just because the avg person will not read that far into the block of information. Fact is this is a clear case of deception, and the law of averages will be in the vendors favor. Best thing you can do is "DO NOT" DO BUSINESS with this company. ** DO NOT PAY THIS BILL ** Best case is forward these fake invoices to the Federal Trade Commission. This company took it to the level of parsing current name server info and adding in there own as "inactive" name servers, so that they can become your "backup" DNS provider. This is as - low as it gets BOYCOTT this company! Post on Yelp ... http://www.yelp.com/biz/dns-services-vancouver DNS Services Category: Internet Service Providers [Edit] 4400 NE 77th Ave Ste 275 Vancouver, WA 98662 (360) 529-5130 http://www.dnssvc.com Tony G. Beaumont, TX They are actually trying to get customers by misrepresentation. On the invoices they send out it has a statement saying that the document is for solicitation. However a lot of billing departments never catch it and just send it in with a check and the company can then use it to pull the account from the existing web host. My billing department was quick enough to ask me what it was for and thankfully I caught the deception. It is definitely a sign of that companies integrity to try and fool people into their business. I will never ever give them a chance now and I will always discourage people away from them if I ever have the opportunity. |

George M. Los Angeles, CA 11/14/2012 OMG! I can't believe this company can't be stopped or fined for scamming. We recevied an invoice from this company, addressed to a wrong address (our previous address we have not been at for over 3 years). It was for services we do not use (backup services), we have never used, for an account we never opened nor asked to be opened. It seems they're taking information from GoDaddy's customers (I assume by hacking) and bill them for services companies don't use or requested. Unfortunately, I suppose some larger companies do pay them. They're major SCAMMERS!!! Someone really should do something about this and STOP them!!! |
