(The Hosting News) – Over the thanksgiving holiday, a slew of news websites fell victim to a cyber attack from the Syrian Electronic Army.




According to the Washington Post, many users visiting sites such as The Guardian, Forbes, NHL, CNBC, and the Daily News were greeted with a pop-up message stating: “You’ve been hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army (SEA),” followed by the group’s logo.

The hacktivists also posted the following status via their official Twitter:

“Happy thanks giving, hope you didn’t miss us! The press: Please don’t pretend #ISIS are civilians. #SEA”
